Reasons for excessive power consumption of submersible pumps

1. Overheating of bearings: The power machine and water pump shaft are subjected to excessive radial force, resulting in an increase in load and bearing heating.

2. Too tight packing: Too tight packing makes the water diversion ditch not smooth, resulting in a small gap between the leak reducing rings.

3. Bending of pump shaft: When the pump shaft bends and the impeller rotates, it rubs against the pump casing, producing noise and consuming power.

4. Bearing wear: Excessive bearing wear increases rotational torque and consumes power.

5. Rising inlet water level: The actual head decreases, the outlet velocity increases, the water volume increases, and the power increases accordingly.

5. High speed: High speed leads to excessive shaft power.

6. The specific gravity of the transported liquid exceeds the original design value.

Solution

Check the direction of rotation to ensure correctness.

Check the impeller and replace it as required.

Check whether the clearance of internal worn parts is normal, and ensure that the rotating parts do not bite.

Check the winding voltage of the motor or the steam pressure delivered to the turbine to ensure that the speed is within a reasonable range.

Check the packing and reload it.

Check and replace worn bearings to ensure proper lubrication.

Check if the running clearance between the wear-resistant rings is correct, and replace the wear-resistant rings of the pump casing or impeller as required.

Eliminate the stress on the pipeline on the pump casing and ensure that the alignment is checked after stress relief.
