Causes of large current when the submersible pump is running
There are many reasons why the current of the submersible pump is too large during operation, mainly related to the adjustment of the pump valve and the mechanical failure of the submersible pump motor itself.
The reasons are as follows:
Motor guide bearing wear, water pump rubber bearing wear, seal ring wear
Thrust bearing wear, submersible pump impeller and lower cover wear
The flow rate of the submersible pump is too large or too small
The shaft of the submersible pump is bent and the bearing is not concentric
(1) Motor guide bearing wear, water pump rubber bearing wear, seal ring wear
The bearing wear of the motor or water pump will make the submersible pump mechanically in an abnormal working state, and seriously damage the submersible pump, causing the stator winding to burn out. The treatment method is to repair or replace the damaged bearing and shaft sleeve.
(2) Thrust bearing wear, submersible pump impeller and lower cover wear
This situation will also cause the submersible pump to be in an abnormal working state mechanically, and in severe cases, the submersible pump will also be damaged. The treatment method is to check the cause of the wear of the thrust bearing, whether the mechanical seal at the shaft extension end is damaged, causing sand, impurities, etc. to enter the inner cavity of the motor and cause excessive wear of the thrust bearing. If it is caused by the mechanical seal of the submersible pump, the mechanical seal at the shaft extension end should be replaced while repairing or replacing worn thrust bearings, thrust discs, impellers, and lower cover plates.
(3) The flow rate of the submersible pump is too large or too small
The flow rate used by the submersible pump exceeds the use range, which will overload the motor: for centrifugal pumps or mixed flow pumps, if the flow rate is too large, the shaft power of the pump will increase, which will overload the motor; for axial flow pumps, if the flow rate is too small, the shaft of the pump will Increased power will overload the motor. The treatment method is to properly adjust the valve, reduce the flow rate of the centrifugal pump or mixed flow pump (increase the flow rate of the axial flow pump), so that the flow rate of the pump is within the normal use range.
(4) The shaft of the submersible pump is bent and the bearing is not concentric
This is a serious situation for the submersible pump, and it should be overhauled immediately, the bent shaft should be straightened, the unqualified bearing should be replaced, and the submersible pump should be reassembled.
