The main reasons why the submersible pump sometimes rotates and sometimes does not rotate

1. Power supply problem: The submersible pump may have difficulty starting due to unstable power supply voltage or power failure.

Low or high power supply voltage, damaged cables, poor contact of plugs or switches, etc. may cause the submersible pump to fail to start normally.

2. Mechanical failure: Mechanical failures such as impeller stuck by foreign objects, bearing damage, or friction between the rotor and stator can also cause the submersible pump to fail to operate normally. In particular, broken or severely worn bearing balls at the lower end of the rotor can cause the rotor to jam.

3. Motor failure: Short circuit, open circuit or grounding of the stator winding of the motor, as well as capacitor failure (for single-phase submersible pumps) will affect the starting performance of the motor. In addition, internal jamming of the motor or the action of the overheating protector may also cause the submersible pump to stop working suddenly.

4. Leakage problem: The leakage problem of the submersible pump will cause the leakage protector to trip, usually due to a decrease in the insulation resistance of the motor winding. ‌

5. Insufficient flow: Problems such as excessive installation height of the submersible pump, impeller wear or pipe blockage will lead to insufficient flow, which will affect the normal operation of the submersible pump.

‌Solutions:

1. Check the power supply: Use a multimeter or other tools to measure the power supply voltage to ensure that it is within the rated voltage range of the submersible pump. Check the connectors such as cables, plugs and switches to ensure good contact.

‌Clean up foreign matter: Take the submersible pump out of the water, disassemble the pump body, remove foreign matter on the impeller, and check whether the filter is damaged.

2. Check mechanical parts: Check whether the bearings are worn or stuck, and replace new bearings; check whether the gap between the rotor and the stator is normal, and adjust or repair if there is any abnormality. ‌

3. Check the motor: Use professional instruments to detect whether the stator winding of the motor is normal. If there are problems such as short circuit, open circuit or grounding, the winding needs to be rewound or the motor needs to be replaced; for single-phase submersible pumps, check whether the capacitor is damaged, and replace it with a new capacitor if it is damaged.

4. Adjust the installation position‌: Make sure the installation height of the submersible pump is within the allowable suction range to avoid inhaling mud or air that affects the flow rate.
